Read this over the weekend because I had Covid and laid in bed all week. Absolutely glad I read it in a weekend, because I would been very upset if I had invested anymore time into it. Truly disappointing read, the story feels force and unnatural. It's not all terrible I rather enjoyed the about the letter to Ellen regarding her interactions with Atlas those feel natural. Everything seems like an exmachina to keep the story going or rather create a story. Don't see how this author could be on NY times best-selling list, really don't see how this books has so much hype. It feels done like I've somehow already read this book, not very original. The book has scratch off sections that do not work. You end up scratching of the entire information. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. They didn't have the friends edition listed to review but thats the one I've used. Although I did get the couples edition with it. Not sure if illnusenthat one but the friends one is fun we just did our first adventure that was something different. I can't wait to see what the others are like. The mystery of it makes it exciting. I do wish these books were a little cheaper but it is fun and probably worth it since it will last awhile. The camera option is ridiculously expensive though considering that nothing is included with it. I didnt get that off the site but instead got basically the same instant camera on Amazon for probably 80$ cheaper and it included everything along with a neat travel case.sarah.l

Who knew we needed a sequel. A Wonderful addition to the characters lives. Although the first book made me sad I loved that there was hope at the end. To have a storyline/book where it truly is focus on Atlas and Lily was a fabulous added touch. I truly enjoyed the Theo character what a lovable grown up boy he was. I enjoyed the other subplot storyline that happened. This book was very realistic in the way it depicts what happens when a divorce mother begins dating and has to deal with possible fallout of the ex-husband not being okay with it. The Perfect Sequel to It Ends With Us This was such a perfect end to a story we didn t know we needed a sequel to. It Ends With Us ended on a perfect note and we kinda gather what was going to happen to Lily and Atlas. It Starts With Us gave such an incredible story a love story we needed to read. I loved it for so many different reasons Lily is a superhero! Meanwhile I reread “It Ends With Us” to refresh my memory of the characters. (It made me realize that I want to go back and reread all her books.) I fell in love all over again with Lily and Atlas. I'm one of the authors of this book written more than twenty years ago yet now reprinted over and over again: Continuously in print still in most major bookstores … 23rd printing this year! I wouldn't have dreamed it back then because like now there are thousands of self-help relationship books that come out each year typically with empathic stories and steps to help yourself. When we wrote this book we feared that it was too scientific " "too much about research data " "not warm and fuzzy enough." Professionals sometimes would say to us "Why don't you write a popular version " and I'd blush and say "This IS the popular version!" Well the take-away messages for me are (1) to not underestimate the reader and (2) science makes for enduring contributions to understanding human behavior; data passes the test of time. Yes there are lots of detailed examples of individual's insecurities marriage and relationship struggles. Interestingly they don't involve text messaging e-mails voice mails or Facebook! (They generally didn't exist at the time) But that doesn't matter: Reading it today conveys more of the underlying substance and less of the superficial matter. The stories really haven't changed. I continue to practice psychology and provide marriage counseling and marital crisis intervention where I continue to learn about the complexities of relaitonships about what people really want and value and how things go awry despite their best intentions … How people feel locked into behavioral patterns scripts that are difficult to change. I often muse with clients that "I'll be your probation officer" in going through the awkward periods of change. I've learned a lot in the past twenty years. Back then I couldn't have written it without the research data; we tortured the data until it spoke to us. But my years of experience since then also personally seem to bring me back to so many of those same points we made in the book … bringing me full-circle back to my ivory tower graduate student days of appreciating the importance of research data.
