1. Honest Evangelism: How To Talk About Jesus Even When It's Tough [Book]
Product Details:
Most of us find evangelism hard. there is great hostility towards jesus. but there is also great hunger for jesus and there is no greater joy than seeing people come to know him.this realistic and humorous book by rico tice will help prepare and encourage you to be honest and bold in your evangelism, presenting the gospel fully and properly, even when it's tough.
Reviews:
Review written for 'Honest Evangelism': As one who is petrified on door to door work, I found Honest Evangelism reassuring – and very honest and realistic. I gave a book review in church and got 4 takers. The book is not glib, but refreshingly honest.ken H
Review written for 'Honest Evangelism (ebook)': We read this book during lockdown over zoom for a church book group. It was great to be thinking of evangelism (what it is/isn't, why we do/don't, looking from God's view not just ours) and helped us to make most of new opportunities that God has given us in this moment. For each session we would discuss the previous chapter for 30 minutes and then someone/people would read the next chapter. This gave us a week to dwell on what we heard and read and let it sink it. Definitely recommend reading it in a group although i'm sure it would be helpful for individuals too.Hannah N
Review written for 'Honest Evangelism': Rico Tice, founder of Christianity Explored Ministries, has written a book on evangelism that is short and to the point. He explains what evangelism is, the reasons we find it difficult, whose job it is and what an evangelist is (you might be surprised in chapter 6). Rico reminds us that there is hostility to the gospel but there is also a hunger for the gospel. But, he says, when we just 'say enough to salve our consciences – we talk about church, or Jesus' love, or how great it is to pray', we don't say enough to help people to be saved. We need to talk about the hard stuff – sin, death and hell. He explains what we need to say to share the good news. I'm not going to give all the answers away, suffice to say, if you've done the Christianity Explored course, it will ring some bells. Ask questions, chat your faith, pray for God to work in this person's heart, invest in the relationship. Read the book. It's short, it's punchy, it's to the point. It's honest about evangelism.Gillian P

5. Power Evangelism [Book]

Product Details:
The message of power evangelism has been embraced around the world, and the book that started it all has become a classic, with more than one million sold. in 2006, christianity today named it one of the fifty most significant christian books published in the past fifty years. this revised and updated edition describes the releasing of god's power through signs and wonders to refresh, renew, heal, and equip his people. drawing from the teaching of the new testament and with illustrations from his own experience, vineyard leader john wimber persuades the reader to "yield control of our lives to the holy spirit." though wimber died in 1997, his teaching continues to spread throughout the vineyard movement, through the broader renewal movement, and to christians across the globe, even those who do not consider themselves charismatic. coauthor kevin springer–also a vineyard pastor–has found that since its first publication, the influence of power evangelism has been explosive. this edition includes a chapter-by-chapter study guide and reflects changes springer and other power evangelism practitioners have made in presentation–not in content–for readers in the new millennium.

9. Mere Evangelism: 10 Insights From C. S. Lewis To Help You Share Your Faith [Book]
Product Details:
Evangelism is an extraordinary task; it's what god uses to bring people from death to life. but it has always been difficult. lewis was used by god in the conversions of countless people, from friends and acquaintances in his own lifetime to modern-day readers of books such as the chronicles of narnia and mere christianity (the most influential christian book of the 20th century). as tim keller comments, "c.s. lewis was incredibly skilled at getting christianity across in a way that's powerful to thoughtful people." you may feel inadequate to the task; after all, there is only one c.s. you will be equipped to talk about your faith and engage with unbelievers wisely, whatever their attitude towards the christian faith.
Reviews:
Review written for 'Mere Evangelism': A new release from @thegoodbookcompanyusa, Randy Newman’s book, Mere Evangelism: 10 Insights from C. S. Lewis to Help You Share Your Faith, is a fresh approach to help believers winsomely engage others with the truth of Christianity. Newman, who now works at The C. S. Lewis Institute, was himself a Jewish convert to Christianity aided in his conversion by the writings of Lewis. As many people know, Lewis was a long-time skeptic of the claims of Christianity but eventually accepted Jesus into his life and defended Christianity in the public and academic spheres. What Newman has done in this book is to examine the methods Lewis used throughout his writings and radio broadcasts to bring people to understand the Christian faith in new ways. After looking at Lewis, Newman turns to Scripture for the biblical basis underlying each chapter’s insight. Although Lewis is a household name thanks to Narnia, many skeptics and people with questions don’t think to read Lewis these days. Newman’s book helps to renew Lewis’s relevancy to a new generation. ••• Newman writes, “This isn’t a book to increase membership in a C. S. Lewis fan club or prompt praise for him. It’s to strengthen our resolve to point lost people to the one who can deliver them from a realm where it’s ‘always winter but never Christmas.’ My prayer is that this book will help you say and do things that will make an eternal difference in many people’s lives.”Andy
Review written for 'Mere Evangelism': I loved this book for many reasons. It's always good to learn how to be better at sharing the gospel with unbelievers, especially as the culture shifts in ways it can be hard to keep track of. It's clear that Randy Newman is passionate about evangelism and that he's something of an expert on CS Lewis. He takes lessons from Lewis and shows us how we can apply them in today's culture as we try to share Jesus with people. He keeps pointing us to Christ and to the gospel. He is training rookies and seasoned evangelists alike so anyone could read this and learn something new. And the book sparked my creativity and my imagination. It's inspiring and beautiful. It encouraged me to do more 'pre-evangelism' with my friends- and also to go away and read Mere Christianity! Honestly, this is truly a book worth reading.Catherine B
Review written for 'Mere Evangelism': I bought this book after hearing Randy Newman speak at the Evangelism Conference. It is written with the same light heartened but profound insight and honesty that he speaks with. His explanation of pre-evangelism and how we can use conversations with our non-Christian contacts to open up opportunities for further discussion is really helpful. He doesn't make the assumption that we should go from nothing to sharing the gospel all in one go, but that we can gradually encourage people to think things through for themselves, leaving them wanting to know more. He explains how to use questions in response to their questions to further their consideration of gospel truths that many non-Christians already accept or can see in the world around them. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone, whether you are familiar with CS Lewis or not.Teresa N
