HE LOVED IT. JOINING NAVY IN 2017!!DAZZLING
I really enjoyed, "The Warrior Elite," but this one was a bit too technical for me. I suspect that I would have had a better reference for the details if I had a military background.oleboy112
This is the follow up to "Warrior Elite", this book carries on to see the continuation training that SEALS go through post BUDS and throughout their careers. I was a big fan of "warrior Elite" and this book is a good follow up. This book follows a group of soon to be operational SEALs as they progress from BUD's graduates to there operational deployments. This book differs from its predecessor in that the people being followed and documented throughout training identities are fictitious yet the experiences are real. I like this book and recommend as a great read standalone but it is an awesome book read as a follow up to "Warrior Elite"

Reviews:
Every wondered what it takes to get into one of the toughest branches in the military? This book has answered that question and so many more. And this story is more than just his experiences during his life fulfilling careers, but he gives us lessons he has learned from these experiences and how any of us, even us regular people, can learn to be better. Some of my favorite things about this book was the stories he shares of his career as a SEAL. That is what drew me to this book in the first place. I dont normally read books like this but from the very beginning I knew this would be the exception. Not only the mind boggling, life changing, stories he shares but the way he executed sharing them. I thought that him being a SEAL would make this book hard to understand and to enjoy because I have nothing in common with him, but he wrote in a way that anyone can follow and learn from. He not only has wonderful skills in leadership but can write so well. Every word flowed together, and it was truly pleasing to read his words. I wouldnt say this book it exactly a memoir but more of lessons you can learn. Every chapter is a new lesson to learn and each chapter is broken down into even more subtopics that help to achieve the main goal. At first, I thought that he had un-realistic expectations to tell people that they will never be enough. I thought his view would be a person has to be tough, show no weakness, work until they die, push and push until you wither away, but that was far from the truth. Yes, this book it called never enough and to some extent he is saying you are never enough, but not in the way I first thought. He explained that being Never Enough doesnt mean we dont have our limits, because all of us do and each of them are different, but instead explains that we can always improve our skills, we can always learn more, and try to take our mistakes we have made and learn from them. He teaches that we need to think of others before ourselves, and how we should think of ourselves and other, that even if in a position of power, we need to be flexible to let others take the lead too. I could truly go on and on with the lessons to be gleamed from this book. And all of these lessons have personal experiences to back them up. Some are happy, some are sad, but they all are inspiring. He has had the life experiences that 10 people combined couldnt have in their whole lives for his half a life he has liven so far. I do recommend this book, because I think everyone can learn something, and the stories of his life are truly eye opening. I was hooked from page one and engaged the whole time. A true work of art, and well deserved.Olivia
Thank you to Celadon Books for an advanced reading copy of Never Enough. Mike Hayes has had a career of service and leadership. He is a Navy SEAL, has worked in the White House, and in business. In this book, he describes his experiences as a Navy SEAL to illustrate principles of self improvement, flexibility, compassion, meaning and leadership. The author has a humble, concise, direct and honest tone. His stories are fascinating. The lessons learned from his experiences whether they were successes or failures, can be applied to the personal and professional life of anyone, not just those in the military. The value of a life lived in service to others is emphasized. Never Enough should be read by anyone in leadership, business, medicine, HR, education or government. It should be mandatory reading for those considering military service. In conclusion, anyone can enjoy Mike Hayes' experiences and benefit from his wisdom. #ReadNeverEnough #CeladonReads #partner @CeladonBookslurkykitty
Never Enough is an insightful first person account layered with faith, purpose, and value. The book is split up into sections – and I chose to read through based on those sections and their setup. This allowed me to prolong my reading of the full work and have time to contemplate each life lesson that Hayes imparts on his readers. While Hayes has unique experiences atypical to the average individual, he finds a way to bridge connections between those experiences and every day life. Whether you are ex-Navy SEAL (or even current Navy SEAL) or non-military, there are insights and lessons worth taking away from Never Enough. Each page is filled with thoughtful words, deep insights, meaningful lessons for every reader to take to heart. If you read this one critically, then you will take away from it numerous lessons for yourself and your every day life.bookreader09

Very much enjoyed reading this book. Lots of personal insights. Recommend to anyone who enjoys reading about history.trainman1947sports
There are many nights that if you were to visit me you would find me curled up reading. Reading a book is the most underrated form of entertainment and I highly encourage more practice the habit. All any of us has to do is look around and see what a blessing it is to be able to read especially with the easy access we have here in America. With that said I highly recommend The Last Rescue be one of the books in your personal library. I sat up till the wee hours of the morning until I was finished with this raw and rare behind the 'glory' of a SEAL's life. Howard shares his heart and life very transparently as he takes responsibility for his mistakes and choices. Howard's wife Debbie also shares from a wife's perspective what her experience is with not just being married to a former SEAL but some of the ways their family has wrestled through times of hardship. Readers will glean how servicemen and their families struggle internally when their service for our country is over after a serious battle injury nearly takes a life. Howard shares how words are powerful especially when he was at his lowest point and what brought him encouragement to keep moving forward. Transition is more than difficult for the service men and women who return to civilian life. This book was an eye opener for me. Simple words of thanks to vets go a long way to heal their hearts and let them know their service wasn't for nothing. The church might want to play a bigger role in helping these people find healing of their heart mind and soul. I thank Howard and his wife for sharing their story very honestly with America and beyond as it needs to be told and shared so Americans can come alongside them. Howard was also part of the team that was in the movie Blackhawk Down. In the book he shares how accurate or inaccurate the movie depicted their experiences. So grab a cup of 'joe' (coffee) curl up in your favorite chair and read a very touching account of one man's journey from the brink of despair to where he is today.LJ88

This book is amazing.. and No Hero to follow is worth every lesson learnt! I recommend these books to anyone, not just people interested in military history but it will help every single person understand more about themselves as well as open your eyes to real issues not what we perceive as realjuddzz
"Mark Owen" gives a non-sensationalized insight into the world of maritime tactical operations with his time in the US Navy SEALs and great detail and clarification about one of the biggest military operations of a generation, the mission that killed OBL.super_yeppoon
