Reviews:
This is such a great read and I wanted a copy for my granddaughter to read. This was a hard copy in fabulous condition and was really cheap. I was so pleased to find it. It arrived more quickly than I expected and I was pleased in every way.brothersue2012
I originally read Stargirl for a high school and junior high school event that encompasses many area schools at our local college. I loved the character of Stargirl and all that she stands for. Her freedom to really be herself and enjoy her uniqueness is a message we can all learn from. Most of my students enjoyed it and were able to relate, on some level, to the main character or to Leo, her boyfriend. Leo continues to struggle with how much he enjoys Stargirl's differences but also wants her to lose those differences and conform to the world around them. This book has a low enough reading level that it should be accessible to most middle school and high school students.patricia1983
There is nothing in this book that I do not love with a passion. Please read it and enjoy Spinelli's amazing character development, symbolism and flare for telling a story that people want to finish. I read this back in 5th grade; I read this in 11th grade; I read this in college. I gave this book to an awesome female friend of mine whom I told reminded me of Stargirl and she loved it. I cannot honestly think of a better-written YA fiction novel out there.jonathandalstad

Reviews:
My daughter took a long time starting to read these. She says she enjoys them, but to me, it didn't seem that they kept her attention the way her rescue princess books did. But that might just be because I bought them for her rather than her 'super cool auntie'. I have not read them myself yet, but they seemed cute to me.deesselisa
My daughter saw these books on TV and said "Mom I really want these books". Naturally I immediately ordered them. Since she got them she can't stop reading. I am thankful for these books and her love of reading them. They really hold her interest. Momma MelendezHannahLeigh528
I did not purchase these from this sellar, but wanted to review the books. My 6 year old daughter picked these up and it was the very first chapter book she ever read. She started after I surprised her with the first one after school and read all through the day carrying it through stores and everything. She finished it's 118 pages at 10 am the next morning. I am so proud of her, these books started her love for reading and I am so glad.Victoria

I don’t want me third grader reading about “eating disorders”, throwing up, panic attacks, anxiety , bullying, puberty, and seeing a therapist. I don’t know how it has so many stars and other parents are ok this being put into a young mind. Back it goes . The other books talk about kissing , spin the bottle and teen drama. 3rd grader does not need to read about this kind of stuff. Their minds are impressionable and need to focus on positive thingsBatgirl

My eight year old LOVE these books. Once she starts one she can't put it down. I hear her laugh on occasion while she's reading. That's enough for me to decide if the books are interesting and enjoyable for my daughter. They are age appropriate too. She likes them so well, I went and found the rest of the series that she didn't have and ordered them for her. I love that she is a reader and this encourages her to read more than school requires.lvnmygabby

Product Details:
The daring book for girls is the manual for everything that girls need to know—and that doesn't mean sewing buttonholes! whether it's female heroes in history, secret note-passing skills, science projects, friendship bracelets, double dutch, cats cradle, the perfect cartwheel or the eternal mystery of what boys are thinking, this book has it all. but it's not just a guide to giggling at sleepovers—although that's included, of course! whether readers consider themselves tomboys, girly-girls, or a little bit of both, this book is every girl's invitation to adventure.
Reviews:
"The Daring Book for Girls" is a breath of fresh air. With all the technology, advertising and glitz surrounding a modern childhood, a book which carries within its covers the trade secrets of old-fashioned fun is a marvel for any young girl. How to make a friendship bracelet, how to row a canoe or build a clubhouse, how to care for your softball glove, how to start up a lemonade stand, how to be a spy and famous women spies throughout history. And many more tidbits geared for girls, but not presented in a girly-girl manner. My daughter expressed an interest in this at the library. She will now have her own reference copy for reading at night, under the covers, with a flashlight!satgsaler
If you, or your daughter would love to learn how to make all kinds of things then this book is for you! Learn the ancient technique of folding tshirts, how to make a peach pit ring, basic karate moves, yoga positions, etc. Some people say this book is complicated because the pictures aren't real detailed, and neither are the instructions. But I beg to differ!!! Being patient is key with this book, but you must be patient to learn the different things anyway (with or without the book). All in all it's a fun book to read, and try new things with. Fantastic present for any girl, or woman.tigershep
Awesome book for youth to read and learn from!! Even boys can learn new skills now that Boy Scouts is not helping guide the future men of our world!patrnie-75

I am Azrin, a girl who likes Astronomy, stars, the moon, and outer space. The book is very interesting yet a bit boring, though I still love it! I haven't finished reading yet but the book is either way very amazing. It has all of my interests and is very entertaining. I'm only 9 but can still read non-picture books. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes stars, space, and frightening adventure.mias_63
I absolutely love this book! It seems that I can't ever put it down and must know more about Xan and Luna. As I continue to read I can only hope that Luna and the carpenter are going to be able to put the Protectorate right. That the witch isn't really wicked and in fact saves the children from the strange ritual the village does.MARRIANA
I bought this for my great niece who loves everything moon related. She was elated and couldn’t wait to read it.redreadinghood

My mother is 1/3 of the way through the book and has already found 3 places where the print is goofed up. Multiple lines are printed on top of each other which makes it difficult/impossible to read them. I purchase Large Print Books for her because of her poor vision and did not expect her to find so many misprints. She's enjoying the book but I don't like the poor quality print.Sandy from Sammamish
Great book! Couldn't put it down. Entertaining and informative story of female cryptographers in WWII EnglandJennie
This well written fictional book portrays the code breakers in a fair light now that it can be openly discussed. There were many code breaker groups and most seemed to experience similar settings to what is portrayed in this book.iris1230_8

We read this book as a family. Both my 8th grader and 4th grader loved it! It is built on a plot much like the movie "Groundhog Day," but it is an excellent story line that keeps you guessing throughout. The story begins with two kids born on the same day. There is an element of the prophetic as a mysterious woman says that these two kids will have all their birthday parties together. And they do, despite no intention of doing so at first. But then comes conflict and there is a danger of them splitting up their parties. They plan totally separate birthday parties for their 11th because of something that happened on their 10th. They ceased speaking for a year. Their friendship is on the rocks and something needs to happen or the prophecy will be broken. And something radical does happen to teach them a lesson. The lesson? There is nothing that should cause a good friendship to sever, not even mistakes and foolish words spoken. The prophecy–words spoken that hover over the relationship–serves to bring them together, even when that prophecy has to involve discipline. It was a great story that kept us riveted and prompted great discussion.hugers

A true role model and fantastic experience reading this book.Felicity
Malala lives in Pakistan and is a brave and strong girl who speaks out for female education. This story shows how much terrorism can affect people. It was quite sad to hear Malala write about all the schools being bombed and demolished overnight and having to hide her books while walking to school. The hope and bravery that Malala gave to so many girls is remarkable. It gave people the courage to fight for their education. I thought that it was an amazing book, it inspired me to think about the people who have been band from going to school and made me feel so lucky to live in a country that encourages education for everyone. Having read this book made me want to know more about the Taliban and how many people are affected by their dreadful rules and learn more about Pakistan, it's people and culture.Crazy cupcake
