De Lavier's two books make up the holy bible of weight training and home exercising. The detail is masterly and the illustrations are incomparable. They are the only books you will need.CHARLES V.
You can probably find it online for free, but it is so much better to have it on paper. Illustrations are beautiful and on point. One of the books you always come back to, so its high quality paper really matters.rollingonthe
This is the best book of its kind. It is the only one you will ever need to answer those elusive questions we all have about muscle structure and their relationship to our connective tissue. This books a visual delight. Everything you would ever want to know or have ever read about the anatomy of our muscle structure is illustradted perfectly in here for you review. I can not praise this book enough. If you are an athlete with questions or a parient wanting to educate your child, then this is the best way to go. Some people learn and understand topics from reading about them while other learn and understand more with a visual add in the mix. This has both. But by far this has the best visual representation of the topic I have ever found. The cost of this is nothing compared to the benifits you will receive buying this book.wesselp1

Good condition and informative contentGraham T.
It's true you could hop online and learn all there is to know about calisthenics. But with so much information, you're better off taking in the summary provided in this book. Ashley Kalym lays out the case of why calisthenics might be the perfect exercise regime for you, and then lays out the exercises in strong detail. Along the way, he introduces you to programs for progressing through the exercises, useful warm ups and stretches, and offers a range of useful advice and tips. For example, it's not possible to under exercise at the start of a regimen, but it's possible to over exercise. How refreshing for a trainer to say this! The book is comprehensive, and provides sound advice. It is the perfect way of integrating calisthenics into your training regime.Stuart
I got this book as alternative to the gym. The book starts off with lots of stretching exercises that are very good and a good enough reason to keep the book. Then it goes into the exercises. Ahh man these exercises are so hard, there's so many too! To be honest lots of them are variations of the same exercise. At the end of the book it shows you how to create your own workouts. At the end of the day it boils down to you studying the book, creating your workouts and actually doing them. The price of the book is half the price of a months gym membership so well worth a go.pugg50

Reviews:
The book covers a lot of content and provides the reader with loads of information. My recommendation would be to take aboard as much as possibleb, but be critical about a lot of the things, especially, programming. Otherwise, there are lots of things to be learned from it still and probably all key parts of weightlifting are thoroughly covered.aleksandadinko_0
Perfect, the detail and ease of understanding, wether you are a novice "O" lifter or expert then this book has absolutely everything you could ask for! Excellent for specificity behind your lifts.Magicm
Comprehensive textbook on Weightlifting techniques, exercises and example programming for weightlifters of various stages. Plenty of pictures, industry tips and outside the box training styles mentioned. You may find some sections difficult to implement if you don't have the background understanding of exercise physiology but there is more than enough info in this book to get by. This book won't give you the science behind what it suggests but it will give you an idea of what to do and how to do it.Alex

NSCA’s Guide to High School Strength and ConditioningMarkus M.
A well written text written by experts in he field. Chapters on curriculum design and related resources for strength and conditioning were particularly insightful. But if we wait until high school to intervene with this type of intervention we are 10 years too late. The importance of starting during the primary school years must not be overlooked.Avery F.
